Twenty-five years ago, the community rallied to save Casa Feliz from the wrecking ball. Friends and neighbors gathered to cheer as the cherished Andalusian farmhouse made its remarkable journey across Interlachen Avenue to a new home on the Winter Park Golf Course. In the years since, Gamble Rogers’ signature design has become one of Winter Park’s most treasured landmarks: a vibrant cultural resource and an enduring symbol of preservation, community spirit, and what can be accomplished when a community comes together.
At 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm, architect and raconteur Jack Rogers will share The Animal Friends That Saved Casa Feliz, the remarkable story of some unexpected characters who played a role in the rescue of the house. Young visitors can also: Create a souvenir inspired by Casa Feliz’s historic tilework, Ring Casa Feliz’s signature farm bell and earn a commemorative keepsake, and Visit our anniversary photo booth featuring the original Casa Feliz elevator.
Join Friends of Casa Feliz for a festive, family-friendly day of music, storytelling, history, children’s activities, food, and celebration. This event is free and open to the public — no RSVP required!
