Orlando Ballet presents Sleeping Beauty

A timeless fairy tale of love, magic, and destiny, The Sleeping Beauty enchants audiences with sweeping romance and dazzling choreography. At the christening of Princess Aurora, joy fills King Florestan’s court as benevolent fairies bestow gifts of beauty, grace, and kindness upon the newborn child. The celebration is shattered by the dramatic arrival of the wicked fairy Carabosse, enraged at not being invited. In vengeance, she casts a terrible curse: on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger on a spindle and die. Before despair takes hold, the compassionate Lilac Fairy intervenes, softening the curse. Aurora will not die, but instead fall into a deep sleep for one hundred years—awakened only by true love’s kiss. Recommended for ages 5+ due to show duration.
