Maitland Public Library's Fossil Fun

Travel through time with Mr. Derek and encounter prehistoric marine animals uncovered while exploring various rivers and oceans around Florida. Outside of his role as an astronomer, Derek is a SCUBA diver and fossil hunter. He loves to share this passion by displaying his wonderful discoveries to communities around the country. We will explore the geological timelines and the fossils found within them, including many examples for guests to see and touch.

Derek Demeter is director of the Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College in Florida, astronomer, SCUBA diver, and fossil hunter.
