Fort Christmas Historical Park's Barnyard Banter Historical and Educational Programs for all ages! August 17 is School Days: this is an interactive talk on what school was like in the past, including hands-on activities, such as writing with a quill (feather) pen and playing children's recess games (hands-on activities are limited to ages 6 years and older for the safety of participants). This is a FREE program, open to the public. On the third Saturday of each month, a program is offered for free and is open to the public. Parents and children or grandparents and grandchildren will enjoy learning together about how things were done in the past.

Fort Christmas is a park that includes a replica of a fort built in 1837 during the Second Seminole Indian War; a traditional Florida "Cracker" house and eight pioneer homes; a schoolhouse and lunchroom; a sugar cane mill and other historical farming equipment. Group and school tours are available. Entrance is free. There is a charge for large groups; please call for details. Sorry, no pets allowed in the park. The Park has three picnic pavilions two of which seat 100 people and one which seats 50 people. Each pavilion has a large barbeque grill, electrical outlets and water hose. For pavilion rental please call. There is a playground with swings, slide, a fort looking jungle gym, and an area for small children. There is a basketball court, tennis court and a small baseball field.

**Park opens at 8am until sunset so families can arrive early to check out the forts or stay after.
