Come out and honor seven decades of Kaiju chaos, as Enzian Theater and Janus Films look back at the long and storied career of the King of the Monsters, Godzilla! This special three-film event pits Godzilla against some of the greatest foes of the Shōwa era, featuring new DCP restorations for the 70th anniversary of Godzilla (1954), the 60th anniversary of Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964) and the 50th anniversary of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974). If you want to “destroy” all the monster screenings make sure you grab our limited edition “Big Lizard Badge” which will get your discounted admission to see all three films. Godzilla (a.k.a. Gojira) is the roaring granddaddy of all monster movies. It’s also a remarkably humane and melancholy drama, made in Japan at a time when the country was reeling from nuclear attack and H-bomb testing in the Pacific. Its rampaging radioactive beast, the poignant embodiment of an entire population’s fears, became a beloved international icon of destruction, spawning almost thirty sequels.
