Leu Gardens Glasses in Flight

Experience an amazing outdoor sculpture exhibit at Leu Gardens from February 3rd-May 5th with larger-than-life flying insects hand-crafted into 28 works of art with Dalle de Verre glass and steel. Created by nationally known sculptor, Alex Heveri, each piece captures the essence of flight. Sunlight through the colored glass mimics the transparency and iridescence of insect wings, intensifying the illusion of movement and life. The exhibit weaves together the beauty of art with the science of nature. Kids will enjoy finding special butterflies throughout the Gardens.
On Feb 3rd at 11am families can join us for an exclusive tour of our newest exhibit, Glass in Flight 2, with the artist, Alex Heveri.
Alex Heveri’s glass and steel sculptures has enhanced public and private spaces for over 25 years. Her inspiration is nature itself and her love of insects, animals and the planet earth. This incredible tour with Alex Heveri will elevate your experience of Glass in Flight 2 as she discusses her vision, inspiration and dedication of each extraordinary sculpture.
On Feb 10th from 9-3pm it's our Family Exploration Day! Come ‘bug out’ with us for a Family Fun day celebrating Glass in Flight 2! Families will enjoy arts and crafts, insect exploration activities, and meet a beekeeper and his hive! Plus, a special butterfly hunt hiding in the Gardens. Included with admission.
