Oakland Nature Preserve is proud to offer outdoor nature and science experiences every Monday from 10-12pm to homeschool groups and individuals. This exciting once a month program gives homeschool students hands-on science experience to reinforce topics and skills being taught at home. The students will be introduced to the topic of the day and divided into groups for age appropriate activities. So much of science depends on observation, and these lessons are designed to encourage the students to notice significant details that differentiate one animal from others. There is also the opportunity to recognize differing points of view, as well as the benefit to engaging in discussion and trial and error in hands on science. This program is drop-off only for children ages 6-16yrs old.
