The Bluegrass Festival returns! This is a free event on Saturday, April 6 from 9:45 a.m. - 4 p.m., at Fort Christmas Historical Park, 1300 Fort Christmas Rd., Christmas. Bring chairs, blankets and a picnic or purchase from food trucks. This is a free event, open to the public. The park includes a replica of a fort built in 1837 during the Second Seminole Indian War; a traditional Florida "Cracker" house and eight pioneer homes; a schoolhouse and lunchroom; a sugar cane mill and other historical farming equipment. Group and school tours are available. Entrance is free. There is a charge for large groups; please call for details. Sorry, no pets allowed in the park. The Park has three picnic pavilions two of which seat 100 people and one which seats 50 people. Each pavilion has a large barbeque grill, electrical outlets and water hose. For pavilion rental please call. There is a playground with swings, slide, a fort looking jungle gym, and an area for small children. There is a basketball court, tennis court and a small baseball field.
