Our mission is to promote the sport of rowing in Central Florida. We offer a wide variety of programs from recreational to high level competition. Whether you want to sweep row or scull, race or just come out to get your exercise outside of the gym, Orlando Rowing Club is THE place to do it. With a boathouse on beautiful Lake Fairview in Orlando, ORC welcomes athletes and novices alike!
The RECREATIONAL Sweep Program provides athletes from the Learn to Sweep Row program with the opportunity to continue to develop their rowing skills before joining the Competitive Rowing programs. Crews may row in any combination of eights and fours. The REGIONAL COMPETETIVE Sweep Program desires a higher level of fitness and works toward being able to medal at focus regattas, including the Head of the Hooch and USRowing Southeast Regionals. Acceptance into this program is possible for first-year rowers, depending on rower skill level. The NATIONAL COMPETETIVE Sweep Program is able to commit to four days a week of training, with the expectation of medaling or meeting specified times in national-level regattas such as the Head of the Charles and Masters Nationals.
If you are a sweep rower looking to transition to sculling, consider the Learn to Scull courses offered on a regular basis.
