
At The Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, we provide FREE services to at-risk children and families a support system and resources, so they don’t have to face overwhelming challenges alone. Every day, The Howard Phillips Center serves the most at-risk families in Central Florida. We are helping thousands of toddlers with special needs, children who have been abused, and teens who lack access to healthcare with our comprehensive services.
(1) Developmental Center for Infants & Children. Every child is different. The Developmental Center and Early Steps model exists as an early intervention program that provides specialized services for children up to the age of three who have developmental delays or special needs. Services include service coordination, clinic evaluations and early intervention services provided in the “natural environment” of the family’s home, aimed to help manage physical, emotional, intellectual, social and sensory challenges.
(2) Healthy Families: In home-visitation program offered that prevents child maltreatment and builds healthy, positive parenting skills for new mothers and fathers through educations, referrals and resources. Healthy Families staff members work with parents from pregnancy until the child is five years old,
(3) Teen Xpress is a unique school-based mobile healthcare unit that provides complete medical and mental health care services to underserved, uninsured and at-risk students of several low-income middle and high schools in Orange County.
(4) The Healing Tree: provides assistance for any child who has experienced abuse, from ages 3-18. The Healing Tree provides evidence-based assessments, along with individual, group and family therapy sessions for children and their caregivers.
