Exploding Bacon is a 4-H Club that competes in FIRST robotics. Proving that with hard work, cooperation, and a little engineering, Pigs really can fly. But, just like FIRST, Exploding Bacon isn’t about building robots. This team is all about building people. Our students learn skills that will help them to become better employees and citizens. In addition to what the students learn, they participate in a wide range of community outreach projects from educational robotic demonstration events to helping those in need.
We are a year round robotics team FIRST Robotics Competition and 4-H Club. The best time to join is in the summer. Due to our limited space, we will close enrollment when we reach capacity. New students will attend a rookie orientation, work on new skills, attend demos in the community and engage in team activities.
OUTREACH TO SCHOOLS: We are a very outreach oriented team, participating in 30+ outreaches each year. Additional Exploding. TEEN VOLUNTEERS: Bacon outreach includes Spark Science Kits, our #FIRSTLikeAGirl campaign, and FIRSTalliances.org. There are numerous opportunities to learn not only robotics skills, but important business skills, such as presentation, social media, and marketing, video and more
