The Orlando Devil Dogs Young Marines, located in Orlando, FL, are proud to be part of our nation’s premier, award-winning program for youth aged 8 to 18. The Young Marines program strengthens the lives of America’s youth by instilling values like self-confidence, academic achievement, respect for veterans, good citizenship, community service, and a commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Through a focus on mental, moral, and physical development, the program builds character and leadership while promoting habits that help young people grow into productive members of society. As a leading organization in the effort to reduce drug demand, the Young Marines emphasize the importance of making smart choices and living life with integrity.
Membership is open to youth who are in good standing at school, and after joining, each recruit undergoes a 26-hour orientation, spread across several weekly meetings. This Recruit Training covers subjects like history, military customs, drill, physical fitness, and rank structure. Upon graduation, young Marines can earn rank, wear the Young Marine uniform, and work toward ribbon awards in areas such as leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid, and drug resistance education.
Since its founding in 1959, the Young Marines has expanded across the country and internationally, continuing to inspire and guide youth to be leaders, role models, and responsible citizens.
