Mead Botanical Garden is a FREE 48-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Orange County in beautiful Winter Park. The Garden is OPEN DAILY from dawn until dusk and is FREE to the public. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in most areas of the Garden provided they remain on a leash and that their owner picks up after them as needed. Explore the wild side of Mead Garden. Learn more about the natural habitats within the Garden and meet some of the native flora and fauna that call Mead Garden their home. Mead Botanical Garden has developed a number of quality environmental programs that are designed to meet state standards for grades K-6.* Our programs focus on Florida’s natural environment and provide students with an opportunity to observe, interpret and understand the interrelationships of humans, animals, plants and ecosystems. We offer programs for public, private and charter schools, homeschool groups, Boy and Girl Scout troops, and other student clubs or associations. If your class or group is learning about something in particular, let us know what that is and we will tailor our program to meet your needs. Programs can be focused on ecological features and/or historical aspects of Mead Garden; edible plants of Mead Garden; native and invasive plants found in the Garden; importance of hydrology in Mead Garden; and much more.
