The Nature Conservancy is part of Florida’s Center for Conservation Initiatives, advancing conservation through education and training, outreach and volunteerism, science and research, and land stewardship.
On the preserves hikers will encounter many wild plants, natural lakes, restored wetlands, and healthy populations of wildlife such as: wild turkey, bobwhite quail, Bachman’s sparrow, Florida pine snake, gopher tortoise, rare loggerhead, green and leatherback sea turtles, bald eagle, swallow-tailed kite, a red-shouldered hawk or a red kestrel flying overhead. You can even enjoy swimming and snorkeling from the protected beach at Blowing rocks.
