Our mission is to provide every child with equal access to high quality early learning programs by supporting those who help children grow and develop. Our vision is for every child in Orange County to enter kindergarten with the foundation necessary to reach their full potential. The purpose of the ELCOC Baby Institute is to provide an understanding of child development and parenting skills leading to improved school readiness for families of children five years old and younger. Our teaching strategies include formal parent class sessions, modeling appropriate interactions, building of cultural and civic pride, and identifying concerns. The parent is child’s FIRST teacher!
Baby Institute: You are your child’s first and most important teacher. Babies don’t come with instruction manuals, but our free six-week Baby Institute provides the support and knowledge you need to raise a happy, healthy child and prepare them for the school years. The program includes six group sessions and five individual sessions, offering an opportunity to learn and to answer your parenting concerns and questions.
The School Readiness program provides child care assistance to qualified Orange County families financial assistance for child care through a variety of services. The program provides parents with access to high quality early care and education while they are working to become financially self-sufficient. Parents are provided with information on child development, as well as parental engagement opportunities that incorporate parents as their child’s first teacher. Childcare services include extended day, extended year, and school age care to support parents in becoming financially self-sufficient.
