Step Up for Students Private School Scholarships

Step Up For Students offers five scholarships in Florida that parents can use at their local private school or tutoring center. These scholarships allow the students to consider a participating private school or an out-of-district public school that may better suit their individual needs, it recognizes that different children learn in different ways and that our collective struggle is to help the students who often are at the greatest disadvantage in modern education.

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and the Family Empowerment Scholarship are based on financial need. Both scholarships allow parents to find Private Schools for their children. The Reading Scholarship Accounts program allows parents with children in public school to access services such as tutoring for their children in grades three through five who are having trouble reading. The Gardiner Scholarship allows parents to personalize the education of their pre-K-12 children with certain special needs by directing money toward a combination of approved programs and providers. The Hope Scholarship allows parents of children in public school to find a new learning environment for their child who is being bullied or a victim of violence.
