FCC's Lifeline Program

FCC's Lifeline Program

Qualify for Lifeline! Lifeline is a federal benefit that lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service. Qualifying is the first step to getting your Lifeline Benefit. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), through its operational office, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), has jurisdiction over the Lifeline telephone assistance program and has taken over all responsibilities for processing applications for assistance. The Florida Office of Public Counsel no longer has the ability to process Lifeline applications.

You have three options to apply for Lifeline benefits:

Apply directly through the National Verifier consumer portal. Once approved through the portal, you are then able to shop for a telecommunication service provider that best fits your needs.
Here is the link to the consumer portal: nationalverifier.service-now.com/lifeline.

Call the Lifeline Support Center and request a paper application to be mailed to you. The support center is open 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm EST and their toll free number is 800-234-9473.

Go to a telecommunication service provider’s storefront and fill out an application with the provider’s assistance.
