Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island is a barrier island on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It's known for its broad beaches, like Manatee Beach Park. In the small resort city of Anna Maria, Pine Avenue is lined with shops, galleries and eateries. We're proud of our wildlife in Anna Maria. The entire city is a bird sanctuary and you can see many species of water and shore birds here. Our aquatic life is remarkable too. You'll find bottlenose dolphins and manatees in our waters, and the fishing, both for sport and for the table, is excellent. Our beaches are also a prime nesting ground for endangered loggerhead turtles and many of our residents actively participate in their protection.

Once a best-kept secret among Floridians, Anna Maria Island has always been known for its sugar-white beach coastline, emerald green and blue Gulf waters and quaint business districts. Today, it is known as a vacation favorite among local, national and international travelers. From honeymooners to Hollywood film crews, youngsters to the young-at-heart, people from around the world have discovered what’s awaiting you – A Piece of Paradise. Anna Maria Island is a place where “old” Florida charm can still be found, flip flops are a way of life and the speed limit never exceeds 35mph. High rise condos and fast food restaurants are pleasantly absent from our pristine vacation destination.
