Art & History Museums of Maitland

The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier Central Florida cultural destination and community gathering place, combining the best of both art and history. The Art and History Museums of Maitland operates the Maitland Art Center, Waterhouse Residence Museum, Carpentry Shop Museum, Maitland Historical Museum, and The Telephone Museum. A&H is also home to a variety of art classes and workshops, as well as two artist residency programs. The Museum offers a FREE monthly program called "little creatives" and FREE tours that are held each month that you can find on there site in the events section!

The A&H’s Maitland Art Center offers a more immersive and intimate experience than a static museum, and encourages visitors to take a closer look at the artists and the artistic process. Visit this historic, aesthetic gem set in the middle of busy Central Florida. Waterhouse Residence Museum: This historic house museum reflects the life of a middle class Victorian family during the early days of the City of Maitland. The home was originally built by Maitland resident and carpenter William Waterhouse in 1884, as a home for his family. Visit and learn about the Waterhouse family and the early days of Maitland and Central Florida. The A&H's Telephone Museum takes visitors on a tour of communications technology and the history of the telephone. Try your hand at the working switching station and then take a look at how communications change throughout time. This exciting collection features several hands-on displays and includes the story of the Winter Park Telephone Company, founded in Maitland by Carl Galloway.
