Orange County Public School After-School Care

The hours in between school ending and parents returning home from work are crucial hours in the life of a child. Afterschool programs provide students the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, interact with their peers, work under the care and supervision of supportive mentors, build on lessons learned during the school day and more. According to National research, there are 7.8 million students enrolled in afterschool programs across the US. In 2020, 90% of parents reported that afterschool programs provide students with peer interaction and aid in building social skills, 85% felt they were able to take part in physical activities, and 73% felt they were getting homework assistance and engaging in STEM learning opportunities. (American After 3 PM Report, DEC. 2020). OCPS offers a variety of programs.
