All the permanent exhibits are kid-friendly and many have hands-on features just for kids. Permanent exhibits include: Florida Fossils: Evolution of Life and Land; Northwest Florida: Waterways & Wildlife; South Florida People & Environments; and the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity, which features the screened, outdoor Butterfly Rainforest exhibit. The Discovery Zone: A free, hands-on area allowing children and their caregivers to engage in science-oriented interactive and experience true-to-scale touchable objects and various activity stations. Enjoy our reading area and settle into our comfortable chairs and enjoy our quality collection of picture books and reference materials with your curious learner.

**General admission is always free but donations are appreciated. There is a small charge for rotating or "special" exhibits .
