SUMMARY:Avian Center for Birds of Prey's American Eagle Day
LOCATION:323 Lester Road Apopka Fl 32712
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The United States officially adopted the design of its Great Seal with a ba
ld eagle at the forefront on June 20, 1782. As our national symbol, the bal
d eagle represents strength and freedom. Today, June 20 also recognizes the
bald eagle's conservation success story. In the 1900s, wild populations of
bald eagles were at greater risk to habitat loss, illegal shooting, and un
intended poisoning from the insecticide DDT. With the passing of the Endang
ered Species Act and the ban on DDT in the United States, bald eagle popula
tions made a tremendous comeback. Admission is $5 per person at the gate th
e day of the event. Children five years and younger are free. All proceeds
advance the Avian Reconditioning Center's mission to save birds of prey and
deliver wildlife education. Thank you for your support! \n\n - Meet ambass
ador bald eagles and other education ambassadors\n - Enjoy flight demonstra
tions, weather permitting\n - Take a photo with an ambassador bald eagle\n\
