Our School programs emphasize helping kids close the achievement gap by teaching academic and life skills in alignment with our core values.
The Y has always been a safe, nurturing place for kids of all ages to be active, confident, and healthy. But the YMCA’s work improving lives doesn’t end there. Our school programs offer kids the opportunity to learn and thrive inside and outside of the classroom with a unique support system designed to help them grow stronger in school, on the playing field, and in life.
Elementary School Programs
Elementary Before and After School programs are designed to provide your student with extra support academically and socially. Our programs offer daily homework help, enrichment activities, daily fitness and nutrition education, and much more!
Middle School Programs
The YMCA’s middle school programs operate enrichment-based activities. Students are offered a variety of clubs from which to choose including athletics, STEM, culinary arts, digital media, and much more. Homework help is also available.
High School Programs
Our high school programs offer a safe and nurturing environment for students to go after school. Our programs aim to develop your student’s leadership skills while preparing them for life after graduation. We offer a variety of programs to cater to different interests.
Links 2 Learning
Links 2 Learning (L2L) is a teen program at the South Orlando YMCA family center, established in partnership with Lockheed Martin. The out-of-school program is designed to create new opportunities for local middle school and high school students.
Youth In Government
Youth in Government (YIG) is a YMCA program that offers high school students the opportunity to serve their schools and communities as part of a yearlong model government and leadership development process. Students write bills on issues facing Florida at weekly meetings and attend a statewide trip, State Assembly, in the Spring to argue their ideas on the House and Senate floors of our State Capital!
Teen Achievers
With tutoring and inspiration from their mentors, students learn the importance of focus, drive, and ambition in reaching their goals. Our Teen Achievers program provides tremendous guidance to help turn their dreams into reality.
The Learning Center
The Learning Center has been providing high-quality, affordable early education programs to children for more than a decade! We understand that children should be nourished to their highest potential as they grow both academically and developmentally.
