As in all cases, prior to each major storm or disaster, we executed our emergency protocol and safety plans for Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which includes relocating animals to wind and storm restraint buildings, this is in addition to boarding wildlife at other facilities around the country offsite where appropriate.
Regrettably, we experienced extensive damage related to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. These instances included debris and flood damage, including multiple structures and their surrounding wildlife areas. Our commercial insurance does not include flood damage.
The portions of the site will remain closed; however, guests will have an opportunity to catch Cool Zoo on tour around the country. Each tour date includes wildlife and animal education exhibitions for cultural or educational purposes, and lots more.
