Truffles and Trifles Kids Cooking Summer Camp
Calling all kids, ages 7-13, must have finished first grade and can read, for a week of delicious and terrific, first-rate cooking! Kids will experience a world of hands-on culinary exploration with their peers and experienced Truffles and Trifles chef instructors. Each day the children will explore a different country or region: French, Italian, Mexican, American, and Brunch. We’ll cover fundamentals such as basic knife skills, how to read and follow a recipe, measuring and mixing, and the importance of kitchen safety. Along the way, kids will learn how to make great food that will impress their family and friends. Classes run FOUR hours each DAY and last for five consecutive days. At the end of camp, each young chef will receive their own notebook filled with recipes, and a diploma. Requirements: age 7-13 (must have finished first grade and can read).
Calling all teenagers ages 14-18 for a week of amazing food exploration and cooking! For five fascinating and fun-filled days, teens will experience a world of hands-on culinary exploration with their peers and experienced Truffles and Trifles’ chef instructors. Each day the teens will explore a different country or region: French, Italian, Asian, Mexico and America. All week we will engage teens in essential fundamentals such as French Mother Sauces, braising, frying, sautéing and grilling, along with basic knife skills, following a recipe, monitoring cooking temperatures and times, and kitchen safety. Along the way, teens will create great food that they’ll love to eat and share with family and friends. Classes run 4 hours each and last for five consecutive days. Give your teenager a foundation that will benefit them for a lifetime, as well as an experience they will never forget. What To Expect: Great cooking isn’t about recipes—it’s about techniques. In our classes you’ll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors in our three kitchens.
