Spelman Reading & Language Center

Spelman Reading & Language Center provides intensive and comprehensive therapy to address weaknesses in reading, spelling, and language skills. Individual 1:1 sessions are provided for each student, based on their individual needs. Comprehensive evaluations are offered in the areas of reading, spelling, writing, and speech and language skills. We provide therapy for students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disabilities, and language processing and expression deficits. Milaura Spelman is a speech/language pathologist and a reading specialist, with over 20 years of experience working with children. She holds ASHA certification and Florida licensure (License # SA6021).

We help children learn and grow in the following areas: Phonological Awareness Skills, Oral, Reading/Decoding Skills, Orthographic Processing Skills, Reading Comprehension Skills, Spelling Skills, Written Expression & Writing Skills, Expressive & Receptive Language Delay, Social/Pragmatic Deficits, We offer intensive remediation therapy, using Structured Literacy Reading & Spelling Programs, such as Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, and Spell-Links.
